The Mumbai Scrabble Club was started in January 1998 as a forum for people to meet and play Scrabble, the international universally popular word game.

In August 1998, the Mumbai Scrabble Club helped organize the First All India Open Scrabble Tournament at the JVPG Club. Since then regular scrabble tournaments at the local, state, national and international level are being held. At these tournaments the experienced players play with and teach the newcomers the finer points of the game.
